What is FTPDirect?

project

FTPDirect is a specialized program for synchronizing local and remote FTP directories. Once configuried, you can synchronize your projects one-sidedly or two-sidedly at the push of a button or fully automatically - by setting a certain synchronization interval.

Every synchronization step is stored in Sync-Logs and can be accessed after the synchronization has finished.

Every file, which was overwritten or removed a backup is made of: You can even undo steps afterwards and so recover overwritten or removed files.

By using FTPDirect, you are always on the safe side.

One-sided and two-sided synchronization

project

FTPDirect can perform one-sided and two-sided synchronizations. By right clicking on a project, you can choose between the following modes:

  • Update: Synchronizes from FTP-Server to Local
  • Commit: Synchronizes from Local to FTP-Server
  • Dualsync: First an Update, then a Commit is performed

Every imaginable behavior is configurable, e.g. overwriting files or removing files.

Automatical synchronization

project

FTPDirect allows you to define a synchronization interval for your projects, i.e. for your directories. In always the same time interval the specific directory is two-sided synchronized with your FTP-Server.

Integrated Trouble-Shooting

project

The ITS (Integrated Trouble-Shooting) is a mechanism to directly undo/control as much synchronization steps, as you want.

If a synchronization was performed, you can directly at the push of a button undo one or more synchronization steps, even, if the synchronization has been performed long time ago.

Before files are removed or overwritten - locally and remotely - , a backup is made of the file.

E.g. if a file was changed both - locally and remotly - and you perform a Commit action, FTPDirect recognizes this and asks you, whether to overwrite the remote file.

You can also save this behavior or put parts of the file, e.g. the direcory, to the project's ignore list.

Function Calls

project

Function Calls are provided functions by using FTPDirect's synchronization mechanisms out of other programs or scripts.

More information to "Function Calls" and examples you can access in the support area.
